Discomedusae is a subclass of jellyfish in the class Scyphozoa. It contains about 155 named species, and there are likely to be many more as yet undescribed.

Ernst Haeckel was a German zoologist, naturalist and marine biologist. The published artwork of Haeckel includes over 100 detailed, multicolour illustrations of animals and sea creatures.
