<p><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">The views are of both Roman ruins, such as the Pantheon of Agrippa, Trajan’s Column, and the Colosseum (called here “Anfiteatro di Flavio”), and important city buildings, like St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican, the Campidoglio, and the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. The central map shows streets, plazas, significant buildings, and landmarks, with a key in the lower-left indicating some major monuments. A compass is drawn in the lower right. Also contain a list of 14 neighbourhoods of Rome, along with the map’s publication information.</span></p>

Containing on the bottom right corner a description of the city. “Venice is built upon Piles, and contains 2108 Streets and Lanes, 30,000 Houses, 112 Churches, and 160 Public Fountains, with a population of 112,000 people. In the Laguna, there are 70 Islands intersected by 149 Canals and connected by 306 marble Bridges”. The map was drawn by W.B. Clarke, and engraved by B.R.Davies. Published under the superintendence of the society for the diffusion of useful knowledge, 59 Lincoln’s Inn Fields, July 15, 1838.</p>
