A fine reproduction of Seaton’s Map of Palestine, or the Holy Land, with part of Egypt. Compiled from Surveys made for the French and English Governments. This Map intended as a companion for & to illustrate the geography of the scriptures is principally compiled from the surveys made under the direction of General Kleber for the information of Buonaparte and as regards the coast from those made for the Admiralty of England.

It’s a decorative map of the Holy Land, Sinai, and Lower Egypt, illustrated with a scene Christ and the woman of Samaria after William Hamilton, R.A., plan of Jerusalem and the Temple, a view of Cairo and a stylised view of the pyramids with the Sphinx. Despite this, there are modern concerns on the map, including a proposed railway from Cairo to Suez and three ‘Proposed Communications between the Mediterranean and the Red Sea’. While the map is undated, ‘A Companion to Seaton’s Map of Palestine’ was published in 1836.
